About
I am a contemporary mixed media artist based in Fairfax, Virginia, known for my vibrant, intuitive paintings that explore resilience, transformation, and human connection. Working through a layered, call-and-response process, I build rich surfaces of color, mark-making, and texture that invite reflection and emotional engagement. My work is guided by the principles of light, love, wonder, joy, and connection, creating visual spaces where viewers can pause and recognize something of their own experience.
After a 30-year career as an elementary art educator, I transitioned fully into my studio practice, embracing my creative voice with clarity and renewed purpose. My work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions throughout the Washington, DC Metro region, including a solo exhibition at the National Institutes of Health and previous solo shows at the Joan Hisaoka Healing Arts Gallery and the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax. I have also exhibited with HMVC Gallery, Las Laguna Art Gallery, and Palm Gallery.
My work has been featured in several art publications including Novum Artis, Artistonish, Arts to Hearts, and Gallerium. I am represented by the Circle Foundation for the Arts in France and has participated in artist residencies with Palette 22 and Alton Cottage.
I maintain an active studio practice while continuing to explore new bodies of work that reflect the evolving nature of identity, belonging, and shared human experience.
